Urinary incontinence (UI) affects 33% of women over the age of 40 but only 26% have discussed it with their doctor. Nearly 50% of women suffering from UI experience stress urinary incontinence.

What to expect during your FemiLift™ treatment
Prior to treatment, you will meet with Dr. Lizette Lourens to discuss your challenges and determine if the treatment is right for you. A recent pap smear (within the past 1 – 2 years) is required prior to treatment and this can be administered by Dr. Lourens, if needed.
The FemiLift™ treatment uses fractional laser technology to assist in revitalizing the vaginal walls and tissue. During the treatment, a small rod containing a CO2 laser is gently inserted into the vagina. It is then carefully pulled back so that the laser treats the full length of the vaginal wall. From start to finish, you can be in and out in less than 30 minutes.
The laser tightens the vaginal walls and stimulates collagen growth in the vaginal tissue.
In addition to treating incontinence, FemiLift™ can also restore vaginal lubrication and increase vaginal tightness, improving sensation during sex.
Who is a candidate for FemiLift™?
We know that stress urinary incontinence (SUI) isn’t just for those who have had children. Other lifestyle and genetic factors can also cause incontinence, including age, weight, menopause, urinary tract infections and pelvic floor conditions including vaginal or uterine prolapse.
How long do the FemiLift™ results last?
The results are long-lasting – usually 18 months to two years or longer, depending upon your health and lifestyle.
How many FemiLift™ treatments are required for urinary stress incontinence?
The number of treatments and results will vary, depending upon the severity of your condition.
Most patients find three treatments provides optimum results for urinary incontinence, though some women may be happy with their results after one or two treatments. More severe cases may require four treatments. During your consultation, Dr. Lourens will advise you of the recommended number of sessions prior to commencing treatment.
